Giving Back Donating time and talents have always been important to Dr. Copeland and that is where he learned his passion for dentistry. Dr. Copeland went on a mission trip to Honduras while in high school and was exposed to an extreme level of poverty and need shortly after Hurricane Mitch. He assisted medical doctors and dentists on that trip and extracted nearly one hundred teeth by the end of the trip. He has been on several out-of-country missions since to Guatemala and Zambia. It has also been important to give back locally. Dr. Copeland has served on the Missouri advisory board for Dental Lifeline Network since 2016 and has served as Missouri's ambassador. He has also worked with several other local veteran's organizations including the Kaufman Fund. Most recently, he has donated his time and talents to victims of human trafficking. Dental Lifeline Network"DLN gives me the opportunity to improve the dental health of those around me that might have a hard time getting the care otherwise. Whether they are medically compromised, veterans, or in some other way impoverished, DLN gets those patients to my door, and we are happy to help." -Dr. Jon Copeland, DLN |
